LetterRun

LetterRun combines a traditional marble-run toy and letter blocks. The focus was to engage through play. As it turns out–adults enjoyed the toy as well. We discovered in our user testing that girls wanted to spell words and the boys were more interested in constructing runs that accelerated or bounced the ball.

The 3" square blocks are magnetic and can be attached to vertical surfaces like doors or refrigerators. When a copper ball is rolled along the run, the circuit is closed and LED's in each block turn on.

LetterRun was a collaboration with Ben Chao at NYU.
